Product: Kapok
Origin: Thailand / Indonesia
Description: Produced from the floss on the inside of the pods of the Kapok tree, kapok is resilient, elastic and light. It is only one sixth of the weight of cotton and is water repellant.
Uses: For stuffing purposes e.g. coat linings and cushion fillings. It is also used for insulation and is one of the best known sound absorbers per unit of weight. One advantage of kapok in mattresses and soft furnishings is that it is immune to attack from pests such as rodents and other vermin.
