| Product: Kapok |
 |
 |
 |
| Origin: Thailand / Indonesia |
 |
| Description: Produced from
the floss on the inside of the pods of the Kapok tree,
kapok is resilient, elastic and light. It is only one
sixth of the weight of cotton and is water repellant. |
 |
| Uses: For
stuffing purposes e.g. coat linings and cushion
fillings. It is also used for insulation and is one of
the best known sound absorbers per unit of weight. One
advantage of kapok in mattresses and soft
furnishings is that it is immune to attack from pests
such as rodents and other vermin. |

Production Details:
All our kapok is sourced from Thailand where
it is produced from the pods of the kapok tree. As soon
as possible after picking, the inner floss is removed
from the pods and is dried, de-seeded, cleaned and
finally baled.
